Personally, after Lost and Rules of Attraction, I haven't really been following Ian Somerhalder's career. In fact, I have never seen a single episode of The Vampire Diaries. So I really wasn't prepared when it came time for Q&A when he answered questions about his offscreen passion, The Ian Somerhalder Foundation, and his thoughts on society's relentless pursuit of beauty and eternal youth, I was simply blown away at how charming and intelligent this man really is. He can now consider me a fan.
